A new direction
After a 25 year career as a graphic designer, Johanne Lacroix has returned to what drew her into the world of art in the first place.
Born and raised near Quebec City, Johanne graduated from a 3 year graphic design program at CEGEP de Ste-Foy before moving to Ontario to study visual arts the University of Ottawa. She then went on to complete another graphic design program at George Brown College in Toronto.
After 7 years in the industry, Johanne opened her own graphic design studio and for the next 15 years conceptualized and produced work for the retail advertising sector which was published both nationally and internationally.
Johanne created a fine art gallery in Perth Ontario which she sold after operating it successfully for 3 years. She then moved to Gananoque in 2018 where she is now creating her own work. “Going from client driven designs to total freedom of creation and drawing from subjects of personal interest for inspiration has been greatly fulfilling”.
