The Official Plan (OP) is a legal document which considers how or where the Town develops. It looks at where our homes, our work, our businesses should be located as well as what services such a roads, utilities, parks and school are needed. Planning the future of the Town and recognizing the natural resources that we have. How do we achieve our goals while maintaining a sustainable community and meetings the needs and services of the community? The Town of Gananoque Official Plan (OP) is an essential planning document which is designed to manage future growth, development and change in our municipality. This Official Plan provides a framework which will guide land use decisions within the Town’s boundaries for the next 20 years. The current Official Plan for the Town of Gananoque was approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs on May 12, 2010.
