Sept 7th & 14th - Beginner's Knitting at Community Living - Thursday afternoons 12:30pm - 2:30pm $55 plus materials (2 weeks)
Create a lovely knitted scarf; a great project for beginner knitters, or those who have experience but haven't knit for a while. It is also a quick knit for those with a bit more experience and makes a nice last minute gift. Skills learned: cast on, knit/purl stitches, increase stitches, dividing stitches to make a loop, decreasing stitches and casting off. Wool colours and purchase options available.

5 weeks of 2 hour group sessions with homework. Additional 2 hour individual sessions to polish finished work, culminating in a final showcase including excerpts of your writing.

Focus on strengthening core muscles, to promote stability and confidence in physical ability through mixed chair and standing exercises, low-impact cardio, strength training, balance and flexibility. Please bring a ball & resistance band.

Explore gentle movement for mobility and pain care through slow, gentle, mindful movements to help improve strength, balance, and flexibility. We will also explore breathing and relaxation practices. If circumstances are appropriate for some, standing movement may also be possible.

Learn the basics of Line Dances - using a variety of music, from country, to 50s, to jazz, to Caribbean. Then, improve on the basics of line dance with more complex steps and routines.

Oct 11 - Nov 1 - Mandala Meditation at Gananoque Arts Network - Wednesday afternoons 1pm - 3pm $60 (4 weeks)
Traditionally used in many eastern spiritual traditions as a tool to aid meditation. In western culture, mental health counselors often use mandalas as a form of stress relief, a tool for art therapy, and as a meditative exercise.
