In less than a month, your Blue Box Recycling program will transition to full producer responsibility, and the financial and operational responsibility will be that of the producers.
The regulation for this program makes producers resident in Canada that supply packaging and paper to Ontario consumers fully financially and operationally responsible for their products and packaging at the end of life.
Gananoque’s blue box recycling will be collected by Emterra Group beginning April 1st. This transition will result in no change to the materials you can recycle, however it does change your collection day.
Your collection day will move forward ONE day, as of March 31st. If you currently have collection on Monday, it will move to Tuesday; if you currently have a Thursday collection, it will move to Friday. Your digital calendar will be revised shortly to reflect these changes.
Please note – this does NOT affect garbage – your curbside collection for garbage remains the same.
