Leeds and Grenville Diversity Day 2024: Putting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Into Practice

Public Notices

The St. Lawrence-Rideau Immigration Partnership is hosting their annual Diversity Day event on Tuesday, November 5th at Maitland’s MERC Hall. This free event is focused on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices that are applicable to communities, workplaces, schools, and more. Featuring five local experts, this year’s event will help organizations and individuals navigate, create, and understand the importance of EDI practices.

The speakers are:
Siggy Leslie-Casselman, Decolonization and Indigenous Ways Coordinator – Brockville Public Library
Manny Dizwani, Immigrant Employment Service Coach – Employment + Education Centre
Hillary Geneau, Director of Corporate Services – Municipality of North Grenville
Nancy Cassie and Nicole Croteau – Brockville Pride

Everyone is encouraged to attend, regardless of where they are in their EDI learning journey.

After last year’s sold-out event, the St. Lawrence-Rideau Immigration Partnership hopes to continue the momentum of their annual Diversity Day through the offering of another free, informative, and relevant event. Melissa Francis, Program Manager, said, “Every year we see more people attend, and more people interested in the training, information, and speakers we offer. We do our best to listen to what our attendees want and ensure Diversity Day continues to be an event that reflects the needs of Leeds and Grenville.”

Diversity Day is happening on November 5th at MERC Hall in Maitland from 9:00am to 3:15pm. For more details, registration, or if you have questions, please visit https://tinyurl.com/zkjwyhh9.
