- Mayor Beddows proclaimed September 20th to October 13th, 2024, be recognized as “Culture Days in Gananoque”.
- Council directed Staff to complete the design work for the permanent repairs to the retaining walls on the east approach of the Water Street roadway and obtain quotes from three (3) pre-qualified contractors that can complete the necessary works immediately. Council also approved a budget deviation of $662,000 to be funded from capital reserves for this project to be completed in 2024.
- A By-law was passed to amend the Procedural By-law which will change Council Meeting start time from 6:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- The Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign an encroachment agreement with the owner of 299 Arthur Street which will provide legal approval of the structure which has been erected within the Town’s right-of-way.
- Council postponed consideration of the Award of Contract – Stormwater Master Plan until the October 1st, 2024 Council Meeting.
- The Water and Wastewater Second (2nd) Quarter Report was received for information.
- The Fire Department First (1st) and Second (2nd) Quarter Reports were received for information.
- The 2024 Waterfront Concert Series Report was received for information.
- Town of Prescott’s Mayor Shankar joined the meeting and provided an overview of the Town of Prescott’s request for continued support from the Town of Gananoque to request an Operational Review of St. Lawrence Lodge. Council considered and passed a motion of support.
- A By-law was passed to add Theo Graham as a member of the BIA Board for the remaining term of Council.
- Deputy Mayor Vicki Leakey was appointed to the Artefact Oversight Committee, replacing Councillor Matt Harper.
- Deputy Mayor Vicki Leakey was appointed to the Downtown Gananoque Business Improvement Area (BIA) Board of Directors, replacing Councillor David Osmond.
