Town News
  • Members of the Linklater Public School Choir performed the National Anthem.
  • Kathrine Christensen and Brett Christopher, Thousand Islands Accommodation Partners (TIAP), appeared before Council and presented TIAP’s 2024 Income Statement and Annual Report.
  • Mayor Beddows proclaimed April 2nd, 2025, be recognized as “World Autism Day” in the Town of Gananoque.
  • Mayor Beddows proclaimed the month of April as “Be A Donor Month” and April 7th, 2025, as “Green Shirt Day” in the Town of Gananoque.
  • A By-law was passed to amend the Grass Maintenance Quality Standards Policy.
  • A By-law was passed establishing the 2027 to 2030 Remuneration and Expenses for members of Council and Local Boards for the Corporation of the Town of Gananoque.
  • Council received the Gananoque Public Library Quarterly Report for information.
  • The Mayor and Clerk were given authority to sign a Lease Agreement with the Thousand Islands Accommodation Partners (TIAP) for a portion of 10 King Street East for five (5) years.
  • Council directed Staff to review the draft Urban Tree By-law as submitted by the Trees & Trails Advisory Panel and to provide an amended By-law for comment from the Trees & Trails Advisory Panel, and to report back to Council.
  • The 2024 Fourth (4th) Quarter Water & Wastewater Reports; 2024 Water Quality and Wastewater Annual Performance Reports, and; 2024 Annual Stormwater Management Report, were received for information.
  • Council received the Fire Department 2024 Third (3rd) & Fourth (4th) Quarter Report for information.
  • Council authorized the Purchase of a 2025 FORD F-150 Responder pick-up truck through the Provincial Emergency Services Cooperative Purchasing Group (PCPG).
  • Council passed a By-law authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sign the Memorandum of Settlement regarding the four (4) year renewal (January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028) of the Collective Agreement between the Town of Gananoque and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and its Local 1701.
